THE semi-finals of the Townview Foods Champion Stakes lived up to all expectations last Saturday night.
Potential superstar Farley Blitz continued his rapid climb up the ratings with a superb win in the first heat, and then two really on-fire trackers, Makeshift and Tyrur Big Mike, who are by this stage Ringsend Saturday night regulars, won the other two semis in really convincing fashion and at this stage would be my two prime fancies for Ladbrokes Irish Derby glory.

OWEN McKENNA won the big pot on another great Saturday meeting loaded with Irish Derby candidates when Farley Blitz was cheered home by favourite backers in the Tyrur Rhino Open 550 final, worth €1,500. On semi-final form it looked a good contest but bookmakers got it right, sending off Farley Blitz at 6/4, with the others 4/1 and higher.
